Dr. Dariush Shirmohammadi to lead Grid Interconnection practice

Dr. Dariush Shirmohammadi has joined GridBright to lead a new Grid Interconnection practice.
Dr. Dariush Shirmohammadi is an Executive Vice President at GridBright. He leads GridBright’s engineering consulting services. He has over 40 years of experience in the utility industry in the planning, design and operation of transmission and distribution grids, integration of renewable resources, and development and implementation of electricity markets. He is a world-class expert in interconnection and integration of renewable and distributed resources in the transmission and distribution grid.
Prior to GridBright Dariush held senior technical positions at Ontario Hydro, PG&E, Perot Systems, PA Consulting, California ISO (Director of Transmission and Operations Planning), and Shir Power Engineering Consultants, Inc. He has authored over 70 technical papers on renewable generation interconnection and integration, utility industry restructuring and electricity markets, and power system planning and operation, distribution system analysis and automation, Electromagnetic transient’s analysis, and High voltage engineering. He has been honored with multiple awards for his leadership, innovation, and technical skills, including IEEE Life Fellowship award, IEEE Best Paper Award, Utility Wind Integration Group’s (UWIG) Annual Achievement Award, Perot Systems’ Inventors award, and PG&E Wall of Fame Award for technical excellence.
Dr. Shirmohammadi has a Ph.D. in Electric Power Engineering from the University of Toronto, is a registered Professional Engineer, and is a Life Fellow at IEEE.
