Project:
Identifying the Growing Challenges and Solutions for Integrating DERs
About the Customer:
The Centre for Energy Advancement through Technological Innovation (CEATI) is an international user-driven organization committed to providing technology solutions to its electrical utility participants, who are brought together to collaborate and act jointly to advance the industry through the sharing and developing of practical and applicable knowledge. To learn more, visit the CEATI website.
Project Description & Benefits:
In 2016, working with CEATI and a number of utilities in North America, GridBright identified the major impacts on distribution operations when integrating Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and developed appropriate solutions for each. The solutions range from simple technology upgrades, to more dramatic system architecture and work process changes to support a transforming value chain where customers increasingly produce and sell their own energy. The final 140-page report also provides utilities with a maturity model, a gap assessment framework, and a roadmap to guide DER operations strategies.
Why GridBright:
“GridBright has deep knowledge of the complex issues that utilities need to address to integrate DER into their operations. They are also meticulous in delivering quality results on-time and on budget.”
